Count only nights at parks inside that program, and only nights you would otherwise have paid for. A night outside the network saves nothing.
The limits that beat the fee
- Good Sam Club: Elite Overnight Stays are a single night per location. Good Sam does not publish a night cap on the campground discount itself.
- Passport America: Each park sets how long the discounted rate lasts, from one night to unlimited, and sites are space available.
- KOA Rewards: The discount comes off the daily registration rate only, and the free night needs two consecutive nights at the same campground.
- Escapees RV Club: The discount ranges from 15 to 50 percent depending on the park, so the break-even below uses the low end.
- Harvest Hosts: Most stays are one night, up to four nights total at some hosts, and your rig has to be self-contained.
- Boondockers Welcome: Stays run from one to five nights depending on the host.
- Thousand Trails: Maximum 14 consecutive nights per stay, and after more than four consecutive nights you wait seven nights before staying again anywhere in the network. That cap, not the price, sets how many nights you can actually use.

Which membership is best for full-time RVers?
Full-timers pay for more nights, so almost every program crosses its break-even. The question stops being the fee and becomes the night limits: Thousand Trails caps a stay at 14 nights and makes you wait seven nights after more than four, and Harvest Hosts stays are mostly one night. Those caps decide how much a program can save in a year.
Is any of them free?
Good Sam Club Basic is free and carries no campground discount. Every other program on this page charges a yearly fee, and a free host night still expects a purchase.
